Head of Americas (CEO successor)
To support on-going exponential growth, our long-term client – a private equity backed global innovation and transformation consultancy – retained us to help them appoint a game-changing leader for their Americas business, with a view that the successful candidate would be additive to the firms CEO succession planning. It was essential that the successful candidate was a recognised international consulting leader who could shape and deliver organic and inorganic growth at scale, aligned to the unique purpose and capabilities of the firm, and important for them to be an American national.
Leveraging our broad international networks, specifically those built from our tenure supporting leadership hires in North America, Bailey Montagu quickly established and engaged a tailored target list of candidates. Having conducted our initial outreach from London, we soon established a credible long-list of individuals to interview in person in North America, before presenting four priority candidates to our client in London. Bailey Montagu remained front and centre of the subsequent interview and engagement sessions between the client and the candidates and, following a thorough process, ultimately helped to shape and present the terms on which the hire was secured.
The successful candidate was a consulting industry veteran who had held North American and international leadership roles in globally renowned consultancies throughout their career. He was attracted by the scale of opportunity to shape a positive human future with our client, and they were attracted by his evident strategic strength, leadership style and sense of purpose.
Ultimately, the successful candidate was appointed Global CEO for the business within 18-months of joining the firm and has subsequently mandated Bailey Montagu to support several key strategic hires within his global leadership team.
