We were asked by one of our valued automotive clients to source a newly created role, Managing Director, Strategy & Business Development for the EMEA region. This role would be critical to the company’s strategic development into new geographic regions for our client. It was understood, from the outset, that what they were looking for was a unique set of skills and experience.

Due to the internal sensitivity and the external confidentiality required for this role, this had to be handled with care and consideration. It was essential that the candidate shortlist would come from a direct competitor due to the market knowledge of the sector required for the role, but the client was open to geography. Combining our extensive global automotive network and the skill of our in-house research and delivery capability we were able to present a strong and relevant shortlist to the client. These candidates were sourced globally and came from Europe, Middle East and Asia and all under NDA.

The approach, engagement and interview process both with us and the client was robust and in-depth and delivered within timescale. The successful candidate had a combination of the industry experience required, had held a global role previously which involved M&A involvement and was very well networked in the market.
